Ingredients
2 large apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Cooking spray or small amount of oil
Instructions
1. Peel (optional), core, and slice apples into 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick rings. Pat dry.
2. In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.
3. In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Combine with dry ingredients to form smooth batter.
4. Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl and set aside.
5. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes. Lightly grease basket.
6. Dip apple rings in batter, letting excess drip off.
7. Place in a single layer in air fryer. Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden.
8. Immediately coat hot apple rings in cinnamon sugar.
9. Serve warm and enjoy as-is or with caramel sauce, ice cream, or whipped cream.
Notes
Use firm apples to maintain shape and texture during cooking.
Always preheat the air fryer for even cooking and crispiness.
Batter consistency should be pourable but not runny—adjust with flour or milk as needed.
