Ingredients

For the Chicken Bites:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Cooking spray or light oil drizzle

For the Honey BBQ Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite kind)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken dry and cut into even bite-sized pieces.
  2. In three bowls, prepare: (1) seasoned flour, (2) beaten eggs, (3) panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Dredge each chicken piece in flour, dip in egg, then coat in breadcrumbs.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes. Spray basket with cooking spray.
  5. Place chicken in a single layer (don’t overcrowd). Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and internal temp reaches 165°F.
  6. In a bowl or saucepan, mix honey, BBQ sauce, soy sauce, vinegar (optional), and red pepper flakes.
  7. Toss hot chicken bites in the warm sauce until fully coated.
