  • 1 (20 oz) package cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 lb ground beef (or Italian sausage)
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook tortellini until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until soft. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds more.
  4. Add ground beef, cook until browned, and drain excess grease.
