Ingredients

2 pounds chicken wings

1 cup pineapple chunks (canned or fresh)

3/4 cup pineapple juice

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon grated ginger

1/2 teaspoon chili flakes or 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons water (for cornstarch slurry)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

2 tablespoons chopped green onions

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Pat chicken wings dry using paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.

2. Preheat oven to 425°F or air fryer to 375°F. Arrange wings in a single layer on a rack or basket.

3. Bake or air fry wings for 35–40 minutes (or 25–30 in air fryer), flipping halfway through.

4. In a saucepan, combine pineapple juice, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer.

5. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl to make a slurry. Add to the saucepan and stir until thickened.

6. Add pineapple chunks to the sauce and let them caramelize for 3–5 minutes.

7. Once wings are crispy, toss them in the glaze while hot until well coated.

8. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

Pat the wings completely dry before baking to ensure they turn out crispy.

Simmer the glaze slowly to avoid burning the sugars while still allowing it to thicken.

Toss the wings in the glaze while they’re hot so the sauce sticks beautifully.
