Ingredients
3-5 pounds Butterball turkey breast
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, quartered
2 carrots, chopped (optional)
2 stalks celery, chopped (optional)
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or 1/3 teaspoon dried)
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary (or 1/3 teaspoon dried)
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
1 cup low-sodium chicken or turkey broth
Instructions
1. Remove thawed Butterball turkey breast from packaging and pat dry with paper towels.
2. Rub the turkey with softened butter and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and minced garlic.
3. Place quartered onion, carrots, and celery in the bottom of the crockpot.
4. Pour chicken or turkey broth into the slow cooker.
5. Place the turkey breast skin-side up on top of the vegetables.
6. Add fresh thyme and rosemary on top of the turkey.
7. Cover and cook on LOW for 5-6 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours, until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
8. Optionally transfer the turkey to a baking sheet and broil for 4-5 minutes for crispy skin.
9. Let the turkey rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
10. Serve with juices or make gravy using the drippings if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, place herbs under the skin before cooking.
