Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon sugar

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 cup sour cream

½ cup mayonnaise

¼ teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives


Instructions

1. Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

2. Add sliced onions, salt, and sugar. Cook slowly, stirring often, for about 35–40 minutes until deeply golden and caramelized.

3. Remove onions from heat and let them cool slightly.

4. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Mix until smooth.
