Ingredients
1 lb ground chicken
2 cups coleslaw mix
1/2 cup green onions, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
15–20 egg roll wrappers
Small bowl of water
Oil for frying (optional)
Instructions
1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground chicken and cook until no longer pink, breaking it apart as it browns.
2. Stir in garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, ground ginger, and black pepper. Cook for 2 more minutes.
3. Add the coleslaw mix and green onions. Stir well and cook for another 2–3 minutes until slightly tender. Remove from heat and let cool.
4. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface in a diamond shape. Spoon 1–2 tablespoons of filling near the center.
5. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly. Seal the top edge with water.
6. Repeat with remaining wrappers until all the filling is used.
7. To Deep Fry: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry egg rolls in batches for 3–5 minutes or until golden brown.
8. To Air Fry: Preheat to 390°F (200°C). Lightly spray egg rolls with oil and air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.
9. To Bake: Preheat to 400°F (200°C). Brush or spray egg rolls with oil and bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping once.
Notes
Let the filling cool before wrapping to prevent soggy wrappers and ensure a better seal.
Avoid overfilling each wrapper to prevent bursting during cooking.
Air frying gives a crisp finish with less oil and cleanup.
