- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 20–24 soft caramels (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream (optional, for melting caramels)
- Flaky sea salt (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter with both sugars using a mixer until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
- Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until combined.

- While cookies bake, melt the caramels with heavy cream (if using) in the microwave in 20-second intervals until smooth.
