Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

2 cups elbow macaroni

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small yellow onion, finely diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

15 oz can tomato sauce

6 oz can tomato paste

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 cups beef broth

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Fresh parsley or basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onions and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

2. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat.

3. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.

4. Add dry elbow macaroni and pour in beef broth. Stir to combine.

5. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed.

6. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese (if using) during the last 2 minutes of cooking.

7. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley or basil, and serve hot.

Notes

Use lean ground beef to avoid excess grease but keep the dish juicy.

Adjust broth as needed to keep the pasta from sticking or drying out.

For a richer flavor, swap beef broth with bone broth or add a splash of cream at the end.
