Description

This Copycat Longhorn Garlic Parmesan Broccoli is the ultimate side dish that makes broccoli feel like the main event. Perfectly tender broccoli is tossed in a luscious garlic Parmesan cream sauce for a side that’s rich, cheesy, and full of bold flavor. It’s a quick and easy recipe perfect for dinner ideas, healthy snack options, and flavorful food ideas that upgrade any meal.

Ingredients

2 heads broccoli, cut into florets

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)

Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add broccoli florets and cook for 2–3 minutes until bright green and just tender. Transfer immediately to an ice bath or rinse under cold water to stop cooking. Drain well.

2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute, just until golden and fragrant.

3. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 2–3 minutes, allowing the sauce to slightly thicken.

4. Stir in the grated Parmesan and mix until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and black pepper. Add red pepper flakes if using.

5. Add the cooked broccoli to the skillet and toss gently to coat. Let everything warm together for 1–2 minutes.

6. Finish with extra Parmesan and lemon zest if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Always use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest sauce.

Do not overcook the broccoli to maintain texture and color.

Add a splash of cream when reheating leftovers to restore creaminess.
