Ingredients
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (more or less to taste)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook penne until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- Season steak with salt, pepper, and half the Cajun seasoning.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak in batches for 1–2 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the same skillet, then sauté garlic for 30 seconds.
- Pour in cream and remaining Cajun seasoning. Simmer for 3–4 minutes, stirring often.
- Stir in Parmesan until melted and sauce is smooth.
- Add pasta and cooked steak back to the skillet. Toss to combine, adding a splash of pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
