Ideal for those looking for quick breakfast ideas, easy dinner recipes, or wholesome food ideas the whole family will love.

Ingredients

2 ½ cups cooked shredded chicken

3 tablespoons butter

1 small yellow onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 cup frozen peas (optional)

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

8 raw biscuits (store-bought or homemade)

2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives or parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. In a large oven-safe skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

3. Add diced onion and cook until soft and translucent.

4. Stir in garlic and thyme, cooking until fragrant (about 1 minute).

5. Sprinkle in flour and stir continuously to form a roux.

6. Gradually pour in chicken broth and milk, whisking until smooth and thickened.

7. Add shredded chicken and peas (if using), stir to combine, and season with salt and pepper.

8. Let the mixture simmer for 5–7 minutes to thicken further.

9. Remove skillet from heat and arrange biscuit dough on top of the filling.

10. Bake in the oven for 20–25 minutes or until biscuits are puffed and golden.

11. Let cool for a few minutes before garnishing with chopped chives or parsley.

12. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a richer flavor, add a splash of heavy cream to the filling.

Always let the sauce thicken before adding biscuits to prevent soggy bottoms.

You can freeze the chicken mixture separately and bake fresh biscuits later.
