Ingredients
1 cup cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 1/2 teaspoons orange zest
1/2 teaspoon orange extract
2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
1 1/2 cups dark chocolate, chopped or chips
1/2 cup chocolate sprinkles
Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add orange zest, orange extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
2. Gradually incorporate powdered sugar, about 1/2 cup at a time, until the mixture is smooth and firm.
3. Chill the orange filling in the fridge for 30–40 minutes until firm enough to roll.
4. Scoop and shape into bite-sized balls. Place on parchment-lined tray.
5. Melt dark chocolate using a double boiler or microwave, stirring often. Let cool slightly.
6. Dip each truffle into melted chocolate and let excess drip off.
7. Roll in chocolate sprinkles while still tacky.
8. Chill again for 15–20 minutes until set.
Notes
Chill the filling well before shaping.
Do not overheat the chocolate.
Use fresh orange zest for best flavor.
