Ingredients
1 deep-dish 9-inch pie crust
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound ground beef
1/2 pound Italian sausage
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
3/4 cup marinara or pizza sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
3/4 cup ricotta cheese (optional)
20 slices pepperoni
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pie crust in a deep-dish pan and prick the bottom with a fork. Blind bake for 8–10 minutes until lightly set.
2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat. Add Italian sausage and cook through. Season with garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Set aside.
3. Spread a spoonful of sauce at the bottom of the pie crust. Add a layer of mozzarella, followed by the meat mixture, then dollops of ricotta. Add more sauce, then more cheese. Repeat the layers.
4. Top with pepperoni slices and sprinkle Parmesan over the top. Brush with a little olive oil if desired.
5. Place pie on a baking sheet and bake for 30–35 minutes or until cheese is bubbling and the crust is golden.
6. Let the pie rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
