Great for gifting or make-ahead treats, this easy dessert is gluten-free and freezer-friendly. Add this to your list of holiday food ideas, quick desserts, or party-ready sweets!

Ingredients

3 cups dark chocolate chips (60–70% cacao)

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon sea salt (plus more for garnish)

1 cup pitted dark cherries (fresh or frozen, halved)

Red food coloring (optional, for swirl effect)

1/4 cup cherry preserves or jam (optional, for more cherry intensity)

Instructions

1. Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal. Lightly grease the paper.

2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chips, condensed milk, and butter. Stir constantly until smooth.

3. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract, sea salt, and red food coloring (if using).

4. Gently fold in halved cherries and cherry preserves. Stir carefully to keep cherries intact.

5. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Swirl in more food coloring or preserves for effect. Press whole cherries on top.

6. Chill in the fridge for at least 3–4 hours or freeze for 1 hour until fully set.

7. Lift out, slice into squares using a hot sharp knife, and wipe the blade between cuts for clean slices.

Notes

Use high-quality chocolate for a rich, smooth finish and deeper flavor.

Dry cherries completely before folding them in to prevent a soggy texture.

Let the fudge set overnight for best slicing and taste.
