Perfect for casual weeknight meals, game day snacks, or nostalgic food ideas, this recipe layers savory chili, gooey melted cheese, and crispy corn chips. It’s a crowd-pleasing dish that’s ready in under 30 minutes, and it’s one of the best easy dinner ideas or hearty snack recipes you’ll make on repeat.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

4 cups Fritos corn chips

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup sour cream

1/4 cup chopped green onions

Instructions

1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.

2. Stir in the kidney beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

3. Let the chili mixture simmer for 10–15 minutes to meld the flavors.

4. Spoon the hot chili into a serving dish or individual bowls.

5. Top the chili with shredded cheddar cheese and allow it to melt slightly.

6. Scatter Fritos over the cheese layer while everything is still hot.

7. Garnish with sour cream and chopped green onions just before serving.

Notes

Shred cheese fresh from a block for best melting texture.

Wait to add Fritos until just before serving to keep them crispy.

You can bake the assembled dish for 10 minutes at 350°F if you want the cheese extra melted.
