Ingredients

  • 3 large egg whites (room temperature)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 box (3 oz) flavored Jello powder (any flavor)
  • ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°F (95°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whip the egg whites in a clean, grease-free bowl on medium speed until frothy.
  3. Add the cream of tartar and continue beating until soft peaks form.
  4. Slowly add the sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while mixing on high speed until the meringue is glossy and forms stiff peaks.
  5. Sprinkle in the Jello powder and vanilla extract, then mix until well combined.
  6. Transfer the meringue to a piping bag fitted with a star tip and pipe small mounds onto the lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 60–90 minutes until the cookies are dry to the touch and lift easily from the parchment paper.
  8. Turn off the oven and let the cookies cool inside for an hour with the door slightly open.
  9. Store in an airtight container at room temperature to keep them crisp.
