Ingredients

  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz elbow macaroni or small pasta shells
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  2. Cook pasta in salted boiling water until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  4. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually add heavy cream, whisking constantly until smooth and slightly thickened.
  5. Stir in Parmesan and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Add cooked pasta to the sauce and stir to coat evenly. Transfer to the prepared casserole dish.
  7. Arrange shrimp on top of the pasta, gently pressing them in.
  8. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella over the top.
  9. Bake for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden. Broil the last 2–3 minutes for extra browning if desired.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
