Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry or 1 can refrigerated crescent dough (8 triangles)
1 cup shredded cooked chicken
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons cream cheese (optional)
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon butter, melted
Optional garnish: fresh parsley, grated parmesan, or paprika
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, shredded cheese, cream cheese (if using), salt, and pepper.
3. Roll out puff pastry or separate crescent dough into 8 triangles.
4. Place 1–2 tablespoons of filling at the wide end of each triangle.
5. Roll up each triangle from wide to tip and place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
6. Whisk egg with water and brush roll-ups with egg wash.
7. Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden and puffed.
8. Brush with melted butter and garnish if desired. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use cold but thawed dough to keep it easy to roll and ensure maximum flakiness.
Do not overfill the dough — it may cause leaking or soggy bottoms.
For more flavor, add Italian herbs or garlic powder to the filling.
