Description
Crusty bread meets melty cheese in this Garlic Cheese Bread — a golden, garlicky, and irresistibly cheesy side or appetizer. Perfectly toasted with gooey mozzarella and a hint of parmesan, this bread is comforting, flavorful, and quick to prepare. Serve it alongside pastas, soups, or enjoy it as a savory snack all on its own.
Ingredients
1 loaf French bread or Italian bread
0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 cloves garlic, minced
0.25 teaspoon salt
0.25 teaspoon black pepper
1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
optional pinch red chili flakes or Italian seasoning
Instructions
1. In a medium bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
2. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment or lightly grease it.
3. Slice the bread in half lengthwise and lay it cut-side up on the baking sheet.
4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over each half.
5. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, covering to the edges.
6. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
7. Broil for 1–2 minutes until cheese is golden brown (watch closely).
8. Remove from oven, garnish with chopped parsley, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
Use fresh grated cheese for best melting results.
Let butter soften at room temperature for easier spreading.
Broil at the end for that crispy, golden cheese top.
Store leftovers in the fridge up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
Reheat in oven, not microwave, to keep the texture.
