Description

If you’re craving a quick breakfast, easy dinner, or cheesy snack that delivers bold flavor fast, Garlic Grilled Cheese is the perfect solution. This easy recipe transforms classic grilled cheese into something irresistible with the punch of fresh garlic and a trio of melty cheeses. Perfectly golden on the outside, gooey and garlicky on the inside, it’s one of the best comfort food ideas you can whip up in under 15 minutes. Whether you’re looking for dinner ideas, healthy-ish snack alternatives, or savory breakfast ideas, this sandwich will become a go-to in your recipe collection.

Ingredients

4 slices thick white or sourdough bread

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

2 garlic cloves, finely minced

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack or Gruyère (optional)

Pinch salt (if using unsalted butter)

Instructions

1. In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic, garlic powder, parsley, and a pinch of salt.

2. Spread the garlic butter mixture on one side of each bread slice. Cover the full surface edge-to-edge.

3. On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer the cheddar, mozzarella, and optional Monterey Jack evenly.

4. Close the sandwiches with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing out.

5. Heat a nonstick or cast iron skillet over medium heat until warm.

6. Grill the sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula.

7. Flip carefully once the bottom is golden and crispy. Cook the other side to the same level.

8. Let rest for 1 minute before slicing. Cut diagonally and serve hot.

Notes

Room temperature butter spreads more evenly and mixes better with garlic.

Let cheese come to room temperature before cooking for quicker melting.

Use thick bread like sourdough or Texas toast to prevent sogginess.
