Whether you’re searching for quick breakfast ideas, an easy dinner side, or simply craving delicious bread to pair with curry, this is one of those must-try food ideas. It’s an easy recipe that comes together with pantry basics and transforms any meal into something extraordinary.

Ingredients

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/3 cup plain yogurt

1/3 cup warm milk

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon oil

2 tablespoons minced garlic

2 tablespoons butter or ghee (melted)

1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

2. In another bowl, combine yogurt, milk, and oil.

3. Gradually mix wet ingredients into dry to form a dough.

4. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

5. Cover the dough and let it rest for 1 hour.

6. Divide dough into 6–8 equal pieces and shape into balls.

7. Roll each ball into an oval or tear-drop shape, about 1/4-inch thick.

8. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until very hot.

9. Cook each naan for 1–2 minutes per side until charred and puffed.

10. Melt butter or ghee, add garlic, and cook for 30 seconds.

11. Brush garlic butter over warm naan and sprinkle with cilantro.

12. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Resting the dough for an hour is crucial to achieve that soft, pillowy texture.

Use a very hot pan to get those authentic blistered spots and char.

For vegan naan, simply substitute dairy ingredients with plant-based alternatives.
