Ingredients

For the Fries:

  • 1 bag (about 1.5 lbs) frozen French fries (or homemade fries)
  • 1 teaspoon taco seasoning (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

For the Meat Topping:

  • 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup water

For the Cheese & Additional Toppings:

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack or Mexican blend cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup diced red onions
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup guacamole or sliced avocado (optional)



Instructions

1. Prepare the Fries:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) or follow package instructions.
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  3. Spread fries evenly on the baking sheet and season with taco seasoning, garlic powder, and paprika.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through for even crispiness.

2. Cook the Meat:

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart until browned (5-7 minutes).
  3. Drain excess grease, then stir in taco seasoning, salt, pepper, and 1/2 cup water.
  4. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until well combined.

3. Assemble & Bake:

  1. Remove crispy fries from the oven and top with cooked beef.
  2. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top.
  3. Return to oven and bake for 5-7 minutes until cheese melts.

4. Add Toppings & Serve:

  1. Remove from oven and top with diced tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, and cilantro.
  2. Drizzle with sour cream and add guacamole if desired.
  3. Serve immediately and enjoy!
