Ingredients
- 12 lasagna noodles
 - 1 lb ground beef
 - 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
 - 2 tbsp tomato paste
 - 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
 - 2 tsp Italian seasoning
 - Salt and black pepper to taste
 - 15 oz ricotta cheese
 - 1 large egg
 - 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
 - 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
 - 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (plus extra for garnish)
 
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
 - In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain fat.
 - Add onion and garlic; sauté until softened.
 - Stir in tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20–25 minutes.
 - Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
 - In a bowl, combine ricotta, egg, Parmesan, salt, and parsley.
 - Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the baking dish. Add a layer of noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and sauce. Repeat layers.
 - Finish with a final layer of noodles, sauce, and mozzarella.
 - Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
 - Let rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley and serve.
