Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tbsp homemade)
  • 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chiles, drained
  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Chopped green onions
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Sliced jalapeños
  • Extra sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain excess grease.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning. Mix until smooth.
  4. In a 9×13 or deep baking dish, spread the creamy mixture as the base layer.
  5. Add the cooked beef on top, then sprinkle over the diced tomatoes with green chiles.
  6. Top with shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven and garnish with your choice of toppings.
  9. Serve warm with sturdy tortilla chips or your favorite dippers.
