Description

Craving a refreshingly sweet treat that’s easy to whip up and freezer-friendly? These homemade Mint Patties are the perfect no-bake dessert. With a smooth peppermint filling and a decadent dark chocolate coating, they’re a favorite for quick desserts, edible gifts, and holiday treats. Whether you need an easy recipe for parties, creative food ideas, or a simple homemade candy, this one delivers every time.

Ingredients

3 1/2 cups powdered sugar

2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk

1 1/2 teaspoons peppermint extract

23 drops green food coloring (optional)

2 cups dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 teaspoon coconut oil or shortening (optional)

Instructions

1. In a mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar and sweetened condensed milk. Stir until a thick dough forms.

2. Add peppermint extract and food coloring if using, mixing until evenly incorporated.

3. Roll dough into 1-tablespoon balls and flatten into discs. Place on a parchment-lined tray.

4. Freeze the patties for 30–40 minutes until firm.

5. Melt chocolate in a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each.

6. Stir in coconut oil if using for a smoother coating.

7. Dip frozen patties into melted chocolate using a fork. Let excess drip off.

8. Return to tray and chill in refrigerator until chocolate is fully set, about 15 minutes.

9. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator up to 3 weeks or freezer up to 3 months.

Notes

Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor and smooth finish.

Freeze the mint centers thoroughly before dipping to prevent melting.

Place parchment paper between layers during storage to prevent sticking.
