Description

Fluffy, moist, and bursting with zesty flavor, the Moisty Citrus Party Cake is the perfect quick dessert for celebrations, potlucks, or anytime sweet cravings hit. This easy recipe uses orange soda for a surprisingly light texture and vibrant citrus taste, all wrapped in a smooth whipped topping. Whether you’re hunting for quick breakfast ideas, easy dinner desserts, or a standout snack, this fun cake has your back. It’s colorful, crowd-pleasing, and ideal for birthdays or weekend food ideas.

Ingredients

1 box orange cake mix (15.25 oz)

1 can orange soda (12 oz, room temperature)

3 large eggs

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 teaspoon orange zest (optional)

1 tub whipped topping or vanilla frosting (16 oz)

Orange food coloring (optional)

Orange candy melts or orange slice candy (optional)

Paper straws for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil. Beat until smooth.

3. Gently stir in room-temperature orange soda until just combined.

4. Fold in orange zest if using.

5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.

6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

7. Cool cake completely before frosting.

8. Spread whipped topping or frosting over the cake.

9. Decorate with orange-tinted frosting, candies, and straws if desired.

10. Cut into squares and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

Make sure the soda is room temperature to maintain optimal fizz in the batter.

Don’t overmix after adding soda—light stirring keeps the cake fluffy.

Let the cake cool fully before frosting to prevent melting or sliding.
