Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups penne pasta (uncooked)
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 cups water
- 1 1/2 cups shredded white cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season steak with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Add to skillet and sear until browned on all sides (3–4 minutes). Remove from pan and set aside.
- In the same skillet, lower heat to medium and sauté garlic for 30 seconds.
- Add milk and water to the skillet, then stir in the penne pasta. Scrape the bottom to deglaze and release flavor.
- Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to simmer. Cook pasta for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once pasta is tender, stir in shredded white cheddar cheese gradually until melted and creamy.
- Return cooked steak to the pan and stir to combine. Heat for another 2–3 minutes until everything is hot and well mixed.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt, pepper, or Cajun spice if needed. Serve immediately.
