Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin, ribeye, or flank), thinly sliced
  • 1 packet (1 oz) Cajun seasoning, divided
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
  2. Season steak with half the Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Sear steak for 1–2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  4. Deglaze the pan with a splash of chicken broth.
  5. Stir in remaining Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  6. Pour in the rest of the chicken broth and heavy cream.
  7. Add pasta and bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cover.
  8. Cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is al dente.
  9. Reduce heat to low. Stir in mozzarella and cheddar until melted.
  10. Return steak to pot and mix gently to warm through.
  11. Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with parsley if desired.
  12. Serve hot straight from the pot and enjoy!
