Ingredients

  • 8 oz smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 cup cooked chicken (shredded or diced)
  • 8 oz rotini pasta (uncooked)
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (smoky or sweet style)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage slices and cook until browned on both sides (about 4–5 minutes).
  2. Add minced garlic and stir until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Mix in the cooked chicken and stir for 1–2 minutes.
  3. Pour in BBQ sauce, chicken broth, and heavy cream. Stir well to combine.
  4. Add uncooked rotini pasta and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Cover with a lid and cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Once the pasta is al dente, reduce heat and stir in shredded cheese until fully melted and creamy.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, or more BBQ sauce as needed. Let sit uncovered for 2–3 minutes to thicken.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
