Description

Oven Roasted Asparagus is a vibrant, crisp-tender side dish that requires minimal prep and packs in maximum flavor. Perfectly seasoned and roasted to bring out natural sweetness, it pairs effortlessly with everything from meats to grains.

Ingredients

1 bunch fresh asparagus (about 1 lb), ends trimmed

1.5 tablespoons olive oil

0.5 teaspoon sea salt

0.25 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

0.25 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Zest of 0.5 lemon (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Trim woody ends from asparagus by snapping or cutting them.

3. Place asparagus on baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

4. Toss spears to evenly coat, then spread them in a single layer.

5. Roast for 12–15 minutes until tender and slightly crispy at the tips.

6. Remove from oven and sprinkle with Parmesan and lemon zest if using.

7. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the refrigerator.

Reheat in oven or skillet for best texture.

Avoid microwaving to prevent sogginess.

Do not freeze, as the texture will degrade.
