Description

These Plum & Cheese Puff Pastry Tarts are the perfect mix of buttery, creamy, and fruity flavors—an easy recipe that feels gourmet. Whether you’re looking for quick breakfast ideas, elegant food ideas for brunch, or a light dessert for dinner gatherings, this tart delivers. Featuring a flaky puff pastry base, sweet-tart plums, and a tangy cream cheese filling, it’s one of those breakfast ideas that works just as well as a dinner idea or a healthy snack when you’re craving something special.

Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

4 oz cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 medium plums, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons honey

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Roll out puff pastry and cut into squares or rectangles. Score a border 1/2 inch from the edge of each square.

3. Chill the cut pastry squares while you prepare the filling.

4. In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.

5. Wash and slice plums into thin, even wedges.

6. Spread cream cheese mixture within the scored borders of each puff pastry square.

7. Layer plum slices neatly over the cheese mixture.

8. Brush pastry edges with beaten egg for a golden finish.

9. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until golden and puffed.

10. Remove from oven, drizzle with honey, and garnish with mint if using. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Use all-butter puff pastry for the best flavor and texture.

Avoid overloading with plums to keep the pastry from becoming soggy.

Let the cream cheese reach room temperature before mixing for a smoother texture.
