Ingredients
450g fresh green beans
2 tablespoons butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. Rinse the green beans and trim the ends. Cut them in half if preferred.
2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 3–4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
3. Immediately transfer beans to a bowl of ice water. Let cool, then drain and pat dry.
4. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden.
5. Add the drained green beans to the skillet. Toss to coat with garlic butter and heat through for 2–3 minutes.
6. Season with salt, pepper, and a splash of lemon juice. Toss again and garnish with parsley if using.
7. Serve warm as a flavorful side dish.
Notes
Blanching and shocking the beans in ice water keeps them crisp and vibrantly green.
Use high-quality butter for the richest flavor.
Add lemon juice at the very end to preserve its brightness and zing.
