With a buttery crust and hearty filling, it’s an **easy recipe** you’ll want to make again and again.

Ingredients

1 package puff pastry sheets (thawed)

1 pound ground beef or chicken

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup carrots, finely diced

1 cup peas (fresh or frozen)

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 large egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and sauté chopped onions until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.

2. Stir in ground meat and cook until fully browned.

3. Add tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, pepper, carrots, and peas. Stir well and cook for 5–6 minutes until thickened. Let the filling cool completely.

4. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into 4–5 inch circles.

5. Spoon filling into the center of half the circles, leaving a border. Top with another pastry circle and seal edges with a fork.

6. Cut small slits in the top of each pie to vent steam.

7. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place pies on parchment-lined baking sheet.

8. Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the pies.

9. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.

10. Let cool for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Always let the filling cool before assembling to avoid soggy pastry.

Don’t skip the egg wash — it gives that golden Hogwarts feast look.

Use a fork to press and seal the edges tightly to keep all the magic inside.
