Description
Creamy, rich, and loaded with seared shrimp, this Shrimp Alfredo Pasta is the ultimate comfort food. Tossed in a garlicky Parmesan cream sauce, it’s a quick and elegant dish perfect for any night of the week.
Ingredients
12 oz fettuccine pasta
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1½ cups heavy cream
1¼ cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccine until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, drain and set aside.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Pat shrimp dry, season with salt and pepper, and sear 1–2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
3. Lower heat to medium. In the same skillet, add butter and garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds.
4. Pour in heavy cream and let it simmer for 3–4 minutes.
5. Gradually add Parmesan cheese while stirring constantly. If too thick, add reserved pasta water.
6. Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss gently to coat.
7. Return shrimp to the skillet, combine everything, and heat through.
8. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for a smooth sauce.
Do not overcook the shrimp—remove once pink.
Reserve pasta water to adjust sauce thickness.
Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
