Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp instant yeast
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup whole milk, warm (100–110°F)
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg yolk
For the Filling:
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
For the Pistachio Cream Frosting:
- 3 tbsp cream cheese, softened
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp pistachio paste
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp milk (or more as needed)
- 1–2 tbsp chopped pistachios (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix warm milk, melted butter, and egg yolk. Combine wet and dry ingredients.
- Knead on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour or until doubled.
- Mix filling ingredients in a small bowl.
- Roll dough into an 8×6″ rectangle. Spread filling evenly.
- Roll tightly from the long edge into a log. Slice into 3–4 rolls.
- Place in greased 8×8 pan or small skillet. Let rise 30–45 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 18–22 minutes until golden.
- Beat frosting ingredients until smooth. Spread on warm rolls.
- Sprinkle chopped pistachios. Serve fresh.
