Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 15 oz tomato sauce
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 7 minutes.
- Stir in garlic, then add tomato sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 5–7 minutes. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix sour cream and cottage cheese together until smooth.
- Cook egg noodles in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half the noodles, half the sour cream mixture, and half the beef sauce. Repeat the layers.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
