Ingredients

12 oz bowtie pasta

1/2 lb ground beef

1/2 lb spicy Italian sausage or andouille sausage

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 red bell pepper, diced

2 cups fresh spinach

1 cup heavy cream

2 oz cream cheese (optional)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 1/2 tbsp Cajun seasoning

Salt and black pepper to taste

1 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the bowtie pasta until al dente, then drain and set aside. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and sausage over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and set the meat aside.

3. In the same skillet, heat olive oil and sauté minced garlic and diced red bell pepper for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.

4. Reduce heat and pour in the heavy cream. Add cream cheese (if using) and stir until melted and smooth. Add Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.

5. Return the cooked meat to the skillet, add spinach, and stir until wilted. Add a splash of pasta water if sauce is too thick.

6. Stir in the cooked bowtie pasta. Add shredded mozzarella and mix until melted and fully coated.

7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Use full-fat cream and cheese for the best creamy texture.

Don’t forget to reserve pasta water—it helps loosen and bind the sauce.

Taste your Cajun seasoning before adding; some blends are saltier or hotter than others.
