Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour (plus more for dusting)
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm milk (100–110°F / 38–43°C)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg, room temperature
- 1 egg yolk, room temperature
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- ½ tsp salt
For the Filling:
- ¾ cup finely chopped fresh strawberries
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Glaze:
- ¾ cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp milk or cream
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: 2 oz cream cheese, softened
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over top. Let sit 5–10 mins until foamy.
- Mix in egg, egg yolk, melted butter, and salt. Add flour gradually, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead for 8–10 minutes (by hand or stand mixer). Dough should be smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise 1–1.5 hours or until doubled.
- While rising, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch. Set aside strawberries and softened butter.
- Roll dough into a 14×10 inch rectangle. Spread with butter, sprinkle sugar mix, and scatter strawberries.
- Roll dough into a log. Slice into 8–10 pieces. Place in greased baking dish.
- Let rolls rise again for 30–45 mins until puffy.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 22–25 mins until golden.
- Cool slightly. Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls. Garnish with fresh berries if desired.
