Description

This easy homemade Stromboli recipe is everything you love about pizza wrapped into a golden, cheesy roll. Perfect for a quick dinner idea, game day snack, or a crowd-pleasing appetizer, this easy recipe delivers layers of melted mozzarella, savory meats, and crispy crust all in one bite. Whether you’re searching for fun food ideas, a quick lunch, or a comforting dinner option, this baked Stromboli fits the bill.

Ingredients

1 lb pizza dough

1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup sliced pepperoni

½ cup sliced salami

1 tsp Italian seasoning

½ tsp garlic powder

2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

1 tbsp olive oil

1 large egg

1 cup marinara sauce (for serving)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Let store-bought dough sit at room temperature for 20 minutes if refrigerated.

2. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a 10×14-inch rectangle.

3. Evenly layer the mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and salami over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.

4. Sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning over the fillings. Add extra cheese if desired.

5. Roll the dough lengthwise into a log and pinch the seam and ends to seal.

6. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet, seam-side down.

7. Beat the egg with a splash of water and brush over the dough. Cut 4–5 small slits on top to vent steam.

8. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown. Cover with foil halfway through if needed.

9. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

10. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

Make sure to use room-temperature dough to prevent tearing during rolling.

Avoid adding wet sauces inside the Stromboli to prevent a soggy crust.

For extra crispiness, bake on a preheated pizza stone or baking steel.
