It’s ideal for special gatherings, quick dinner ideas, or those moments when you crave a hearty yet elegant meal. Each bite is packed with flavor, blending creamy textures with the crispness of the bread for a truly delightful experience.

Ingredients

  • 1 round artisan or sourdough bread loaf
  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bread Bowl: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the top off the bread loaf and hollow out the inside, leaving about 1 inch of bread around the edges. Brush the inside with olive oil and toast in the oven for 10 minutes until crisp.
  2. Cook the Shrimp: Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 3-4 minutes until pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and half the mozzarella. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens. Return the shrimp to the sauce and stir to combine.
  4. Fill the Bread Bowl: Pour the seafood mixture into the toasted bread bowl. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top.
  5. Bake: Place the filled bread bowl on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately. Slice into wedges for easy sharing.
