Ingredients

1/2 pound ground beef

1/2 pound ground pork

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/3 cup milk

1 large egg

1/4 cup grated onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

12 ounces egg noodles

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons flour

2 cups beef broth

3/4 cup heavy cream

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons chopped parsley (plus more for garnish)

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, pork, breadcrumbs soaked in milk, egg, onion, garlic, nutmeg, allspice, salt, and pepper until just combined. Form into 1-inch meatballs.

2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown meatballs in batches. Set aside.

3. Cook egg noodles in salted water until just al dente. Drain and set aside.

4. In the same skillet, melt butter and whisk in flour to form a roux. Cook for 1–2 minutes, then slowly whisk in broth, cream, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.

5. Combine cooked noodles and sauce in a large baking dish. Nestle meatballs on top and sprinkle with parsley.

6. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden.

7. Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with more parsley if desired.

Notes

For best flavor and texture, brown the meatballs before baking, even if using pre-cooked or frozen ones.

Always slightly undercook noodles before baking—they’ll absorb sauce in the oven.

Add a splash of cream or broth when reheating leftovers to revive the creamy texture.
