  • 1 cup warm milk (100–110°F)
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature

Cinnamon Filling:

  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened or melted

Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Activate Yeast: In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Add a pinch of sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Make Dough: Add sugar, softened butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5–7 minutes (stand mixer) or 8–10 minutes (by hand).
  3. First Rise: Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1½ hours, until doubled.
  4. Prepare Filling: Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Set aside with softened/melted butter.
  5. Roll Out Dough: Roll dough into a 16×12-inch rectangle. Spread butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  6. Shape Rolls: Roll up dough tightly and slice into 12 rolls using floss or a sharp knife.
  7. Second Rise: Place rolls in a greased 9×13 dish. Cover and rise for 30–45 minutes.
  8. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 22–25 minutes until golden.
  9. Make Frosting: Beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
