  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (or 1 packet)
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 to 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 12 tablespoons milk (optional, for consistency)

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast: Mix warm milk and yeast in a large bowl. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix the Dough: Add eggs, melted butter, sugar, and salt. Gradually add flour and knead until soft and elastic.
  3. First Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled.
  4. Prepare the Filling: Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  5. Roll Out the Dough: On a floured surface, roll dough into a 16×12-inch rectangle. Spread filling evenly.
  6. Roll and Slice: Roll tightly from the long edge. Cut into 12 rolls using floss or a sharp knife.
  7. Second Rise: Arrange rolls in a greased 9×13 dish. Cover and let rise for 30–45 minutes.
  8. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 22–25 minutes until golden and set.
  9. Make the Frosting: Beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt. Add milk if needed.
  10. Frost and Serve: Spread frosting over warm rolls and serve immediately.
