  • 23 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9×9-inch pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and melted butter. Add honey if using.
  4. Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients and stir until just combined (don’t overmix).
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
