Ingredients

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon white vinegar

1 tablespoon red food coloring

1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Extra white chocolate chips for topping

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. In a large bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition.

5. Mix in the vanilla extract, white vinegar, and red food coloring until fully combined.

6. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and mix until just combined.

7. Fold in the white chocolate chips and optional semi-sweet chocolate chips.

8. Cover the dough and chill for at least 30 minutes.

9. Scoop the dough into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets.

10. Add extra white chocolate chips on top for presentation.

11. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are set and the centers remain soft.

12. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

13. Serve warm or store in an airtight container once cooled completely.

Notes

Chilling the dough before baking helps create thicker cookies with a chewy texture.

Do not overbake the cookies because they continue to set while cooling on the baking sheet.

Use gel food coloring for a deeper red color without affecting the cookie dough consistency.
