1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1–2 tablespoons milk or cream
1 pinch salt

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with 4–6 liners
2. Whisk together flour baking powder and salt
3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy
4. Add egg and vanilla extract and mix well
5. Alternate adding dry ingredients with milk and mix gently
6. Divide batter into liners filling two-thirds full
7. Bake for 12–15 minutes until done
8. Cool completely on a rack
9. Beat butter then gradually add powdered sugar for frosting
10. Mix in vanilla salt and milk until fluffy
11. Frost cupcakes and decorate as desired
